Privacy policy
Updated 31 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-31
Where this policy applies
This policy covers the NewShiksha homepage and its workspace directory. ATaL Bench, Digital NCERT, Maker’s Bench and Test Series are separate applications. Read the notice in each application before creating an account, saving work, sharing a project or taking a test. The homepage does not carry your cookie choice into those applications.
What the homepage receives
You can browse without signing in or submitting your name, age, school or phone number. The homepage has no registration form, payment form, advertising tracker or analytics script. To deliver a page, the server receives technical request information such as your IP address, requested URL, request time and browser headers. Request paths and connection details may be recorded in operational service logs for troubleshooting and security.
Browser storage
When you choose “Got it” or dismiss the notice with Escape, we save only the notice version and acknowledgement date in localStorage under news-shiksha:privacy-notice. This stays in your browser until you remove it or reset the notice. If persistent storage is unavailable, we use sessionStorage for the current visit instead. This preference is not sent to our server and is not an advertising identifier. The homepage itself does not set cookies. Linked applications may use their own cookies and storage.
Why information is used and who receives it
Technical information is used to serve the site, diagnose errors and protect the service. The homepage runs on the operator’s Raspberry Pi. The public connection passes through Cloudflare’s tunnel infrastructure, and the fixed entry link is hosted on GitHub Pages. These providers may process technical connection information to deliver and protect their services. Network administrators and authorised service operators may process connection information. Videos, images and fonts are served locally; they do not request an external image or font service on page load. Following an external link sends a request to that destination under its own policy. We do not sell homepage visitor information or use it for behavioural advertising.
Contacting us
If you email us, your email address, message and any attachments are processed to answer your request through the email provider used for [email protected]. Share only what is needed. Do not email passwords, OTPs, identity documents or student records unless a secure, necessary process has been agreed.
Retention and your choices
The browser acknowledgement stays until cleared or reset. Operational log retention follows the hosting system’s log settings; no fixed retention period is promised here. Support correspondence is kept while needed to handle the request and applicable obligations. You can ask about access, correction, deletion, consent withdrawal or a privacy complaint at [email protected]. We will assess the request and verify identity only where necessary. Clearing this homepage’s storage does not delete records in another application.
Children and school use
The homepage is designed to let learners explore without providing personal details. It does not verify a child’s age or obtain parental consent on behalf of another application. Parents and teachers should help children review any application that requests an account, test data or shared work. This notice does not authorise a school or service to collect children’s data without the applicable safeguards.
Security and changes
Use a trusted network. The public link uses HTTPS. The direct campus address uses HTTP, which does not encrypt traffic; do not enter sensitive personal information on the campus HTTP page. We may update this notice when the service changes. The revision date is shown above. For questions or complaints, use the contact page.
